Ginny Barbour joins the One Repo Advisory Board

When I announced the formation of the One Repo advisory board a few days ago, I mentioned that we’d invited a few more people to join and were waiting for them to finalise their agreement. I am absolutely delighted to announce that we’re now able to add Ginny Barbour.

Ginny has somehow managed to fit us in alongside her responsibilities as Executive Officer of the Australian Open Access Support Group and Chair of the Committee on Publication Ethics (among many other positions).

She really needs no introduction to anyone who’s been following the open access world for the last few years. Before moving to Australia, she was Medicine and Biology Editorial Director at the Public Library of Science, having previously been one of the founding editors of PLOS Medicine. As if that’s not enough, she’s a director of the World Association of Medical Editors and sits on the steering group of the AllTrials initiative.

As well as boundless energy and broad experience, Ginny brings an important medical perspective to the One Repo.

Welcome, Ginny!

  1. Bravo! Hopefully the push for OA in Australia will be bolstered by this partnership.
